A pocketing door disappears entirely into the wall when open, which requires every panel to travel further, stack precisely, and stay aligned across a much longer span. When one carriage in that run drops even slightly, the panels stop stacking cleanly and the whole wall feels wrong. Homeowners describe it as the door being stuck, but the actual fault is often a single roller in the middle of the sequence.
These systems also carry serious weight. Panels of eight or ten feet in impact glass are two-technician lifts, and getting one out and back in without damaging the finished jamb is most of the skill in the job.
